A short commentary on different types of system administration. Defines some of the different types of administration with one in particular pulled out as: "It's VendorOps. You are hired to tend the vendor's stuff."

Seems very relevant in the context of the cloud where a lot of administration is actually tending to other peoples stuff - where things are more about gluing existing pieces together. There's a big different in mindset and skills required for that kind of process to other kinds of system administration.
