Wikidata Query Service - example query for Sherlock Holmes' birthday.
https://query.wikidata.org/#SELECT%20%3Fperson%20%3FpersonLabel%0Awhere%20%7B%0A%20%20%3Fperson%20wdt%3AP569%20%3Fdate.%0A%20%20hint%3APrior%20hint%3ArangeSafe%20true.%0A%20%20FILTER%28%221854-01-06%22%5E%5Exsd%3AdateTime%20%3D%20%3Fdate%29%0A%20%20SERVICE%20wikibase%3Alabel%20%7B%20bd%3AserviceParam%20wikibase%3Alanguage%20%22en%22.%20%7D%0A%7DMy cautionary note that data always needs to be read and examined in context. This query retrieves all people in wiki data who were born on 1854-01-06. The results include Sherlock Holmes.
We should be careful about how we read and interpret data in its context. Just because something has a standardised and interoperable birthdate indicator doesn't mean that our job is done - in this case we need to understand that a wiki data person also includes fictional persons, otherwise we'll end up making nonsense comparisons.
